About the Annual Meetings

Each Fall, the IMF's International Monetary and Financial Committee and the joint World Bank Group-IMF Development Committee hold meetings to discuss progress on the work of the institutions. Plenary Sessions of the IMF/World Bank Group Boards of Governors are also scheduled during the Annual Meetings.

The Meetings are attended by approximately 4,000 delegates from our member countries, 650 observer organization representatives and 900 members of the press. Approximately 600 accredited civil society members also participate in the Meetings.

In the context of the Annual Meetings, the World Bank Group and the IMF also help organize and host a number of related meetings of groups of country delegations, such as the G-20, G-24, Commonwealth, BRICS, as well as the Program of Seminars and other events beginning on Tuesday, October 4.

Flagship Seminars & Open Events
The flagship seminars and open events that take place during the week of the Annual Meetings create a forum for government delegates, policy-makers, the private sector, representatives of civil society, academics and senior WBG and IMF staff to engage on the major financial and development issues currently confronting the international community. They are designed to generate discussion and debate as well as promote partnership, cooperation, and knowledge-sharing. These events are open to all accredited participants. There is no separate registration, and attendance is on a first-come, first-seated basis. 
 
Civil Society Policy Forum
The Civil Society Policy Forum (CSPF) provides an open opportunity for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to dialogue and exchange views with WBG and IMF staff, their peers, government delegations, and other stakeholders. The forum is composed of approximately 40 discussion sessions on a wide range of topics, which are open to all Annual Meetings attendees. To learn more about the CSPF, click here.

All events, times, and locations listed in the schedule are tentative and subject to change. The "Bubble Chart" view displays select key ministerial events in addition to World Bank sponsored events that are open to all attendees.

Under the supervision of the Corporate Secretary of the World Bank Group, the Corporate Secretariat Conferences Office, along with the Meetings Secretariat, is responsible for a wide range of services during the Meetings including: communications, registration and credentials, events services, office arrangements, hotel accommodation, language services, audio-visual support, documents and records, personnel, procurement, shipping, security, transportation and technology services.
